Scope, terms and privacy.
Plain terms for seminars and private conversations.
Scope of service
Atelier Avela offers perspective and guidance from lived experience, through online seminars and private conversations. We are not therapists, doctors, counsellors or lawyers, and we do not diagnose, treat or offer clinical care.
Our seminars touch on family life. Where a situation involves self-harm, substance use, abuse or serious depression, it calls for professional help, and we will say so. Crisis lines by country.
Decisions you make for yourself and your family remain yours. We offer no guarantees of any outcome, academic or otherwise.
Terms
Seminars. Seats are confirmed on payment. A seat may be moved to a later seminar at no charge; seats are not refundable. Part 2 of a two-part seminar is open to guests who have attended Part 1. As a courtesy, a seminar may be retaken once, free, within a year of a guest’s first seminar, subject to space.
Conduct. Seminars are private. Recording, sharing or publishing any part of a seminar, or another guest’s question, is not permitted.
Private conversations. Private conversations are for guests aged 19 and over, booking for themselves. Rescheduling is free up to 24 hours before the session.
Avela Notes. A monthly subscription for seminar guests, which may be cancelled at any time. Messages are one-way.
Privacy
We collect only what we need to book and run your seminar or conversation: your name, email address, and what you choose to tell us. Payments are handled by our payment providers; we do not see or store card numbers.
Seminars and conversations are never recorded. What you share stays between you and us. We do not sell or share your details for marketing.
